The Washington Farm United Methodist Church Parking Lot Clean-Up Project is part of the requirements for me for advancement to the rank
of Eagle

This project is intended to provide a clean up of the accumulated leaves, branches and debris; pruning and removal of the shrubs and bushes along the boundary area between the parking lot and the sidewalk; and working to improve the parking lot surface by eliminating ruts, mud puddles and holes.

During the project volunteers will help create provide an attractive parking lot and make sure that it is safe and convenient for worshipers and those attending WFUMC activities. Volunteers can participate in pruning, planting, mulching & landscaping as well as resurfacing the gravel parking surface. In addition, we will be spreading topsoil along the easement where it is currently marked off by the traffic cones in preparation for converting it from gravel to grass. Assignments will be given out a first come first serve basis. If you have not yet let me know your preference for pruning, planting and mulching or other landscaping chores please email it now.
Tentative Schedule:
8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. | Volunteers Arrive, Receive safety briefing |

12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m. | Lunch (Subs & Pizza) provided |
12:45 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. | (Optional period if needed to complete all tasks) |
Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and comfortable closed-toe shoes. Scouts are encouraged to wear troop class B shirts.
Pruning, planting volunteers: Tools will be provided. However, you may want to bring work gloves and your own bringing eye protection.
Landscaping Volunteers: Some tools will be available but you may want to bring your own brush removal & landscaping tools such as shovels, rakes, etc. Please bring your own gloves and eye protection. In some areas, we may be able to use electric leaf blowers, and string trimmers. If you have these and would be willing to operate them, please let me know.
Pictures & Press Releases: Scouts may bring cameras and take pictures of your group in action. Pictures of volunteers at work and before and after pictures will be taken for use in my report.
